SHERBROOKE, Quebec – Irene St. Laurent Riendeau, 98, died on April 18, in Sherbrooke, Quebec.

She was born in Windsor, Quebec, Nov. 29, 1910, the third of 12 children. She married Wilfrid Riendeau in September 1933, and he died in October 1973.

She lived in Lewiston for more than 30 years and worked at Bates Manufacturing for more than 26 years and was a member of Holy Cross Parish. She returned to her home town in Windsor after the death of her husband and enjoyed being united with her siblings.

Her favorite pastime was playing cards with her sisters and watching sports on TV. She was a gentle soul and will be remembered as a fun-loving person.

She leaves a daughter, Rita and her husband, John Crowley, of Jay; four grandchildren, Peter, Stephen and his wife, Rebecca, Mary and her husband, Jamie Boughman, and James; two great-grandsons, Banning Crowley and James Boughman III; two sisters, Gemma Therrien and Laurianne Cote; and many nieces and nephews, most of whom live in Canada.
