SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Richard A. Marcotte, 67, of Moulton Hill Road, Monson, Mass., passed away Thursday, April 23, at Baystate Medical Center, with his family at his side.

He was born in Lewiston, Nov. 23, 1941, to the late Albert E. and Edna (Phenix) Marcotte. He graduated from Edward Little High School in Auburn, the Auburn Maine School of Commerce and Husson College.

He had been a Monson resident for many years. Before his retirement, he worked as a controller for hotel chains. He then worked at the Ware Wal-Mart in shipping and receiving.

He had a great love for the outdoors and took much pride in growing Christmas trees on Moulton Hill. He enjoyed sports, especially the Red Sox, Bruins, U-Conn and his grandchildren’s involvement in sports. His greatest joys came from spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.

He leaves his wife, Margaret (Rivard) Marcotte; his children, Richard A. Marcotte Jr. of Shrewsbury, Mass., Melinda Marcotte and her fiancé, Wayne Sidur, of Ware, Mass., and Lisa Dimarzio and her husband, Chris, of Ware, Mass.; a sister, Joan Hamann and her husband, Roger, of Greene; four grandchildren, Slater, Denver, Julia and Sydney; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother, Donald Marcotte.
