I support the legislative initiative LD1020, “An Act to End Discrimination in Civil Marriage and Affirm Religious Freedom.”
As a woman of faith, as a Christian, and as an Episcopal priest, I cannot imagine denying same-sex couples the same basic human and civil rights enjoyed by their heterosexual brothers and sisters.
To deny those fundamental rights would violate the Gospel (Good News) in which I am rooted and which I am called to proclaim.
The Rev. Anne G. Stanley, Paris
