HAMPTON, Va. – Beatrice D. Popadak, 82, passed away Tuesday, April 28, in Hampton, Va., after a brief illness.

She was born Sept. 2, 1926, in Lawerence Mass., the youngest daughter of the late Diselda and Raoul Daigle.

She grew up in Lewiston and later resided and raised her family in Lisbon Falls. She also lived in Mesa, Ariz., Merrimack, N.H., and most recently in Hampton, Va.

She was the widow of Paul A. Popadak, who passed away on Dec. 13, 1974.

A loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she enjoyed dancing, gardening, coin collecting and the NBA. She was a longtime fan of the L.A. Lakers. She also loved playing billiards, for which she received several trophies.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan R.Tate of Pittsburg, Pa.. and Merrimack, N.H.; her son, Paul M. Popadak of Hampton, Va.; three grandchildren, Matthew M. Tate and his wife, Jessica, of Pittsburg, Pa., Aja A. Popadak of Manchester, N.H., and Corey A. Tate of Knoxville, Tenn.; two great-grandchildren, Mylee J. Tate and Gabriel R. McKernan of Pittsburg, Pa.; and several nieces, nephews and dear friends, many who lovingly referred to her as “Grandma Bea.”

Besides her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by all of her brothers and sisters.
