SOUTH PARIS – Florine Edwards Perry, 87, died April 30, at Market Square Health Care Facilities.

She was born in Mexico, Oct. 28, 1921, the daughter of Clifford and Lula C. Edwards. She lived in Mechanic Falls most of her life, attended Mechanic Falls schools and graduated from MFHS in 1940.

She married Walter L. Perry Jr. on Aug. 18, 1940. She belonged to American Legion Post 150 Ladies Auxiliary and the Mechanic Falls Ladies Fireman Auxiliary.

She worked in the local paper mills for many years and also at Gould and Scammon in Auburn, until retirement in 1983. She was very active in the local senior citizen groups. She and her husband traveled extensively around the U.S. after their retirement.

She is survived by a daughter, Velora J. and her husband, Frank H. Piper, of Mechanic Falls; two granddaughters, Darlene Boyd and her husband, Jeff, of Mechanic Falls and Doreen Piper of Oxford; two great-granddaughters, Amanda Boyd-Sherrer of Mechanic Falls and Allison Bennett and her husband, Kevin, of Auburn; two great-great-grandchildren, Alex L. Sherrer and Lilliana C. Bennett.
