SOUTH PARIS – Robert K. Sawtelle, 72, of South Paris, died Monday, April 27, at his residence.
He was born on June 18, 1936, the son of Harold Sawtelle and Edna Deming West. He went to schools in Otisfield and went back in 1981 and got his diploma. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1973. He worked in the woods and several wood working shops. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, visiting with all his friends at Hill Street Apartments. Taking trips with his special friend, Lorna Plante, who predeceased him. Summer bass fishing with the Saunders family, visits with Marion, Jeff, Travis, and Jeffrey Brackett Jr; all of the Hemingway’s, Barbara Sessions, Nicole and Lacey Cargnio, and CJ Walo.
He is survived by daughters, Peggy and James Roberts of North Waterboro and Mike and Julie Saunders of Sumner; a son, Kenneth Harmon of Lake Park, Fla.; six grandchildren, Alissa, Kari, and Tonya Robertson, Nikki Saunders, Dana Hil, and CJ Skillings; three beautiful great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Clarence Sawtelle of Connecticut, Hazen Sawtelle of Springfield, Harland Sawtelle of Springfield, Dolores Phillips of Lincoln, Dorleene Skeens of Springfield, Nannette Richford of Springfield, Sylvia Spinney of Dayton, Tenn., Mildred Demchak of Eliot, Marilyn Burnsed of Georgia, and Shiela Dyer of Dover, N.H.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Manley Sawtelle, Kenneth Sawtelle, John West, Frank West, Brenda West, and Wendell West.
