TOPSHAM – Senior left fielder Jena Dubois had two hits to lead Edward Little to a 3-0 victory over Mt. Ararat in KVAC softball action Friday.

Dubois singled in the first inning, stole second base and eventually scored on a sacrifice bunt by Miranda Martin for the eventual game-winning run for the Red Eddies (4-3). Alyssa Levesque earned the win on the mound for Edward Little.

Brooke Graffam contributed a pair of non-eventful hits for the Eagles (3-4). Megan Carr suffered the loss on the mound for Mt. Ararat.

Fryeburg 13, Poland 0

POLAND – Hannah Hill recorded a no-hitter while striking out four hitters and the Fryeburg offense jumped all over Poland, banging out 20 hits in a 13-0 victory in WMC softball action Friday.

Hill had four one-hitters and one two-hitter prior to Friday’s game, though her four strikeouts were well below her season average of 14.

Heather Tripp went 4-for-4 for the Raiders (6-0), while Brylie Walker smacked a triple and two singles. Ariel McConkey added a double in the victory, while Anna Tupaj had a triple.

Sara Sands went the distance for the Knights (0-7) and suffered the loss.

Brunswick 15, Lewiston 1

BRUNSWICK – Emily Hartzell keyed a fourth-inning explosion with a grand slam to help Brunswick to a 15-1 win over Lewiston in KVAC softball action.

Hartzell finished with three hits on the afternoon, joining teammate Haley Clark as the Dragon (3-3) pounded out 12 hits against three different Lewiston hurlers.

Carly Denis led the Blue Devils (0-7) with a pair of doubles, and Courtney Vallee added a two-bagger for Lewiston. Michelle Caron drove in the Devils’ lone run with a single in the first inning.

Jay 14, Mountain Valley 2

RUMFORD – Brittany DiPompo stockpiled three hits to lead Jay to a 14-2 victory over Mountain Valley in MVC softball action Friday.

Alexii Smith went the distance on the mound, pitching a three-hitter and tossing nine strikeouts.

Smith also contributed on offense with a double, while Betsy Gemelli and Liz LeBlanc did the same.

Shelby Moore had a double for the Falcons (2-3), but Mountain Valley failed to get any lift under their wings through six innings of play.

Monmouth 29, Boothbay 2

BOOTHBAY HARBOR – Reen Kahl belted two doubles and Alyssa Morin cranked a triple Friday for Monmouth, which took advantage of numerous walks in a 29-2 MVC softball victory over Boothbay.

Megan Bates also doubled for Monmouth (5-1). Kahl, Bates, Beth Neal and Angie Bechard all were repeat hitters. The Mustangs scored nine runs in the top of the first and piled on another 14 in the third.

G-NG 21, Traip 1

KITTERY – Brittany Adell, who had three hits, smashed a two-run double in the first inning as Gray-New Gloucester sailed to a 21-1 victory over Traip in WMC softball action Friday.

The Patriot’s (6-2) starting pitcher Laura Getchell tossed 12 strikeouts over four innings to earn the pitching victory.

Lacrosse

Kents Hill 10, Hebron 7

HEBRON – Thale Cockiel netted four goals to lead Kents Hill to a 10-7 triumph over Hebron in girls’ lacrosse action Friday.

Kents Hill held a narrow 5-4 lead into the midpoint and continued to inch ahead in the second frame.

Amy Corvi scored three goals in the contest.

Sarah Markey led the Lumberjacks with four goals.

Goalie Emily Russell made eight saves for Hebron, while Sam Kiesiel turned back eight for Kents Hill.
