LEWISTON – Ruth C. LaBrecque, 80, a longtime resident of Livermore Falls, died Thursday, May 7, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.

She was born in Jay, on April 29, 1929, the daughter of Charles Alphonse and Lucienne (Gendron) LaBrecque. She was a 1949 graduate of Livermore Falls High School. She worked at the Glove Shop in Livermore, Livermore Shoe Co. in Livermore Falls and Bass Shoe Co. in Wilton, where she retired after 20 years of service.

She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay and a member of SPREAD in Jay. She had been a Girl Scout leader for 12 years and was also a member of the Livermore Falls High School, Class of 1949, reunion committee.

She is survived by a brother, Charles F. LaBrecque and his wife, Joanne, of Chelmsford, Mass.; and a sister, Nancy Ann Crosson and her husband, Peter, of Livermore Falls.

She was predeceased by her parents; and a brother, Michael LaBrecque, in 1997.
