We here at the urban youth outreach ministry, The Jesus Party, observed April as National Child Abuse Awareness Month. We feel that violence in all its forms should be condemned.
This ministry is concerned about the rising levels of violence within families and throughout communities. Our leadership is calling for a transformation of the communities by reshaping our families, our places of worship, work, school and recreation into more loving environments. That transformation can take place only in an atmosphere of reverence for the divine creator and respect for all life.
We fully committed to working toward a violence-free society as a gift to ourselves, our children and future generations. All men, women and children are created in the image of God. We encourage attitudes of peace and harmony toward one another.
Let us waste no time in taking action and working together in eliminating the many causes of violence. It is of the utmost importance to create an atmosphere of love and support for all those touched by acts of violence.
