On May 6, Gov. John Baldacci, who received just 33 percent of the vote in his re-election, signed into law legislation about an issue already voted on, and overwhelmingly defeated, by the citizens of Maine.
The Legislature’s and governor’s actions are just another way to ignore the voice of the people. I call for all elected officials who voted in favor to resign. They are not representing the people of this state.
I also call for all citizens to never vote for those people again, in any manner. Voters trusted them to do the citizens’ will, not their own. I also call for all to rise against this by demanding a referendum next November.
