LEWISTON – On Saturday and Sunday, May 15-16, Bates College will host the Block Party, an event designed to bring the Lewiston community together for a weekend of music and outdoor activities.
Drop Everything and Play will kick off the festivities Friday from 4 to 10 p.m. on the library quad of the college campus. Among the featured performers will be Samuel and the Knocks and Snakes Say Hisss!, both of New York City; and hip-hop artist Zion I of Oakland. There will be a barbecue costing $5, and free root beer from Capt’n Eli’s of Maine will be available.
Saturday’s event, Ronjstock at the Ronj on Frye Street, will feature Neato Fleets of New York; Computer At Sea and Dead End Armory, both of Portland; and many more. Again, there will be a barbecue as well as vendor tables from She Doesn’t Like Guthries of Lewiston and Nezinscot Farms of Turner.
