BUCKFIELD – The Zadoc Long Free Library will hold a knitting group for four weeks beginning Wednesday, May 20. The group will be led by Marty Elkin from A Wrinkle in Thyme Farm of Sumner.

The meetings will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. May 20 and 27, June 3 and 10 at the library. A beginner’s kit, which will include 16-inch No. 10 bamboo circular needles, a skein of wool yarn and a hat pattern will be available for $20.

Although the first project will be simple, knitters of all levels are welcome. Those wishing may bring their unfinished project and their own needles and/or yarn.

If there is enough interest, the library may offer the knitting group on a monthly basis. Other possible programs in the future are washing, carding, dyeing and/or the spinning of wool fiber, farm visits or living history experiences.

Space is limited and prior registration is required. For more information about the program or to register, call the library at 336-2171, e-mail [email protected] or visit www.zadoc.lib.me.us.
