Society to meet
CARTHAGE – The Carthage Historical Society will meet on Tuesday, May 19, at the old school museum for a potluck supper at 5:30 p.m. After a short business meeting, there will be a program of Maine history.
Yard, plant sale
FARMINGTON – A yard and plant sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 23, at the Fairbanks School Meeting House, Route 4 Fairbanks Road.
There will be many items, including antiques and collectibles. It will be held rain or shine.

Baby signs class
FARMINGTON – The Franklin County Children’s Task Force, the Wilton Free Public Library and Sherry Walrath have announced a “Baby Signs” class for parents of hearing children.
The series of three classes will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays, June 2, 9 and 16, at Franklin Memorial Hospital’s Chisholm Room.
Participants will learn basic ASL signs to encourage communication with a child.
The classes are free, with childcare available upon request.
