Lewiston – Claire Rousseau Gagne, 66, of Auburn, died Saturday, May 16, suddenly after a courageous battle with cancer at Central Maine Medical Center.

Born in Lewiston on Dec. 16, 1942, the daughter of the late Abel and Roberta (Poulin) Rousseau. Romain Morin became her stepfather at age three. She was educated in Lewiston schools. She worked for over 25 years at K-Mart in Auburn, were she was sports sales manager until her retirement. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, line dancing, family and friend get-togethers and her dog, Carter. She was a parishioner of the Basilica of Saints Peter & Paul.

She is survived by her four children, Tina Gagne of Turner, Dawna Thibodeau of Auburn, David Gagne and his companion, Jody Baine, of Turner and Shirley Michaud of Mechanic Falls; three brothers, Robert Rousseau of South Paris, Norm Rousseau and his wife, Connie, of Lewiston and Roger Morin and his wife, Sharon, of Sabattus; three sisters, Pauline Marcoux of Portsmouth, N.H., Doris Drouin and her husband, Maurice, of Lewiston and Connie Jernigan of Stevensville, Texas; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; aunts; cousins; and many nieces and nephews.

She was married to the late Norman Gagne. She was also predeceased by two sisters, Connie Rousseau and Julianne Morrow; her stepfather, Romain Morin; and godchild, Michael Morrow.
