SKOWHEGAN – Shannon Mark Pierce, 31, of Wilton, formerly of Skowhegan, died unexpectedly upon arrival at the Emergency Room at Redington Fairview Hospital, on Thursday, May 14.
He was born Feb. 10, 1978, in Boothbay Harbor, the son of Lucille “Lucy” Capen. He was a 1996 graduate of Mt. Blue High School, Farmington and proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps.
He had been employed as a guard at the Somerset County Sheriff’s Department. He loved working in the woods and was later employed at Maine Woodturning and at Investment Recovery in Skowhegan.
On May 27, 2000, he married Sandra Lowery in Skowhegan. He will be remembered for his quick wit and impersonations. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, canoeing, boating and playing horseshoes.
He is survived by his wife of nine years, Sandy of Skowhegan, and her children, Robbie and Audra Schobel of Skowhegan; his mother, Lucille Capen and her husband, Eric Bear, of Wilton; a brother, Dannie Pierce and his wife, Stephanie Mason; nephews, Connor Pierce and Garrett Pierce, all of Wilton; maternal grandparents, David and Beverly Capen of Livermore; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; his father and mother-in-law, Wilfred and Rosemarie Webb of Canaan; and two sisters-in-law, Ginger Mears of Canaan and Laura Morgan of Hartland.
