GREENE — Singer-songwriter Martin Swinger will appear at the Araxine Wilkins Sawyer Memorial for three shows Thursday and Friday, May 21-22.
With an acoustic guitar and carefree delivery, Swinger has a knack for making audience members feel at home. He is also known for his three-plus octave range and thoughtful — sometimes outrageous — songs. He sings Americana, swing and jazz standards, traditional folk, adult contemporary and award-winning original songs.
Swinger is a man who wears many hats as a 12-year member of the Maine Arts Commision Artist Roster, singing host of his pubic TV show for nine years, emcee at Day in Capitol Park on the State Capitol lawn for six years and leader of a sing-around-the-campfire for thousands of New England tourists.
Shows will be at 7 p.m. May 21 and at 2 and 7 p.m. May 22. The Sawyer Memorial is at 371 Sawyer Road. Admission is free. For more information, call 946-5311.
