TOPSHAM – The Oratorio Chorale will present its ninth annual recital Sunday, May 31, at Mid-Coast Presbyterian Church. Chorale members, past and present, will perform selections from a variety of composers, including Handel, Mozart, Palestrina, Romberg, Gilbert and Sullivan, James Taylor and Quilter.
They will sing with accompaniment as well as a cappella in solos, duets, trios and small groups. Ben Heller, who leaves soon to pursue musical studies in Ohio, will accompany many of the singers during the recital.
Several chorale members will display their artistry not only with their voices, but also with piano, violin and crank organ.
The concert will begin at 7 p.m. Donations will be accepted at the door, with a suggested price of $10; proceeds will further the chorale’s outreach activities through the Carolyn Johnson Memorial Fund.
The church is at 84 Main St. For more information, call 725-1420 or visit www.oratoriochorale.org.
