RANGELEY — The wedding of Rebecca Jacobs and Matthew Sylvester was held at 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 26 at the Country Club Inn in Rangeley. The Rev. Alan Shumway officiated at the ceremony.
Mrs. Sylvester is the daughter of Tom and Cathy Jacobs of Vienna. Mr. Sylvester is the son of Ernie and Nancy Sylvester of Leeds.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a simple strapless satin gown in A-line style and she carried an autumn bouquet in golds, reds, oranges and browns.
The twin sister of the bride, Jana Jacobs, was maid of honor. Matt Lecomte, friend of the bridegroom since high school, performed the duties of best man.
A reception followed at the Country Club Inn, after which the couple traveled to the Bahamas. They are residing in Mt. Vernon.
The bride is a 2000 graduate of Mt. Blue High School and a 2004 graduate of St. Joseph’s College with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She is a registered nurse at Maine General Medical Center in Augusta.
The bridegroom is a 1999 graduate of Leavitt Area High School and a 2004 graduate of Bridgewater State with a bachelor’s degree in aviation. He is employed at the Monmouth Police Department.
