AUBURN – Fanny Donald Koljonen, 87, of Livermore passed away at the Hospice House, Friday, May 22, with loving family at her side.

She was born on June 10, 1921, at 5 Roanheads, Peterhead, Scotland, the third child of John Sr. and Georgina (Stevenson) Donald. In the fall of 1924, the family immigrated to the United States. They lived in North Jay Village until the summer of 1928, when they moved to the farm on what is now Lake School Road.

She was educated in the Jay School system, graduating from Jay High School in 1939. Her working career began with G.H. bass and then with Wilton Trust Co.

On June 17, 1945, she married David Koljonen at the Donald farm. They lived on Sea Street in Quincy, Mass., until they moved to the Koljonen family farm in 1947. After selling the farm to International Paper in 1964, they moved to Livermore.

In the late 1950s, she began working as a secretary for Calvin Sewall. From there, in the early 1960s, she worked in various office capacities for International Paper Co., retiring as personnel secretary in 1983.

Survivors include one son, David Koljonen of Livermore; her sister, Evelyn Durrell of Jay; two sisters-in-law; and several nephews and nieces.

She was predeceased by her husband; as well as her four brothers, John Jr., George, Alex and David.
