NORWAY – Lillian Lyndel Nichols, 100, most recently of Otisfield died May 24 in Norway.
She was born June 24, 1908, in Madison, to Renan Adair and Marion H. Woodcock Carson. She married Erwin William Nichols on Oct. 25, 1927, and moved to Gray in 1945. She always had room in her house for anyone in need. She loved to cook, especially cookies and apple pies, and to feed everybody. She was an amazing woman who lived in extraordinary times.
She is survived by her children, Sylvia Caswell, Barbara Humphrey, Diana Dexter and William Nichols; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
