CANTON – Lewis Stanley Parlin, 82, of East Wilton, died peacefully in his sleep Saturday, May 23, at the Victorian Villa Nursing Home.

He was born April 2, 1927, a son of Lillian Fletcher Parlin Decker and Erwin Parlin, and received his education in local schools before joining the U.S. Navy serving in Guam and Pearl Harbor.

After his discharge from the service, he met S. Frances Lothrop and they were married on May 11, 1946. They celebrated 61 years of marriage before her death in January 2008. He worked at the Wilton Woolen Mill, Brookside Filling Station, and later at International Paper Co. Lew and Fran enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing and especially their grandchildren. He was a member of Wilton Masonic Lodge 56.

He is survived by a daughter, Linda Taylor and her husband, Dennis, of Wilton; a son, Peter Parlin and his wife, Kathleen, of Vassalboro; a daughter, Loanne Mosher and her husband, Reed, of Vicksburg, Miss.; grandchildren, Scott Taylor and his wife, Jennifer, Mike Taylor and his wife, Jennifer, Travis Taylor and his wife, Tara, Daya Taylor, Asha Taylor, Sarah Parlin, Gregory Parlin and Mark Mosher; great-grandchildren, Lewis Taylor, Alyson Taylor, Nicole Taylor, Madison Taylor, Dennis Jon Taylor and Lilah Taylor; sisters, Kathryn Horn, Marilyn Larabee, Beverly Stevens and Patricia Thomas; several nieces and nephews; two special friends, Bev and Joe; along with many other friends.

He was predeceased by his wife, Frances; and brothers, Keith and Harlan.

His family would like to thank the staff at Victorian Villa for their love, encouragement and patience and a special thanks to his niece, Anna.
