HARTFORD – Voters will decide on five ordinances and a $1.3 million budget at the annual town meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 11, at the Town Hall.

Amendments are proposed to the Shoreland Zoning, Flood Plain, Road Committee and Budget Committee ordinances. The comprehensive plan committee ordinance is being proposed, along with the interlocal agreement on the operation and management of Lake Anasagunticook Dam in Canton.

The town is also seeking a three-year contract for snow removal rather than a one-year agreement.

The recommended amount for the summer road account is $12,000 more than last year and the winter roads account is $30,000 less than last year.

The Town Hall budget was increased to pay for repairs.

The tax rate is expected to be $14 per $1,000 of assessed property value. It’s 10 cents less than last year.
