ALFRED (AP) – A 39-year-old woman who was charged with driving the wrong way on the Maine Turnpike and causing a drunken driving crash that killed two people was handed an eight-year prison term. Donna Bartlett of Wells appeared Thursday in York County Superior Court, where she pleaded guilty to two counts each of manslaughter, drunken driving and reckless conduct and one count of aggravated assault.

Eight other charges wee dropped as part of a plea deal.

The judge also imposed six years’ probation after Bartlett completes her sentence.

James McLaughlin, who was 65, of Gorham, and 15-year-old Cooper Campbell of Portland were killed in the April 2008 crash.
