AUBURN – Rita Myrick and her partner, Kathleen Carroll, certified Leki Nordic Walking instructors, recently received additional certification from the American Nordic Walking Association in Baltimore, Md.

Myrick and Carroll formed a company, Nordic Walking LLC, earlier this year. Carroll gives lessons regularly in Bethel on Tuesdays and Saturdays at 10 a.m. at the Great Outdoor Adventure Center. Myrick gives a guided Nordic Walk for the Healthy Androscoggin, Get Fit And Win contest, every Wednesday on different trails in Lewiston, Auburn and surrounding towns.

Both give private or group lessons by appointment, which includes the use of poles.
