LEWISTON – Elsie M. Trask, 83, of Lewiston, formerly of Wilton, died Friday morning, June 12, at Russell Park Rehabilitation and Living Center where she resided.

Born July 10, 1925, in Ridgeland, Ill., she was the daughter of William Henry and Bertha Elizabeth (Cupp) Page. She received her education in Lincoln, Ill., and on March 21, 1942, married Cpl. Blaine Trask of Wilton. They later divorced in the mid 70s.

In addition to being a homemaker, Elsie also worked for Hayden Brothers Shoe Store and Bob’s Appliance of Wilton.

She was a member of the Rebekahs. Her Saturday morning ritual always involved baking and then distributing her homemade cookies to family and friends, always thinking of them by baking their favorites. Her artistic talents were seen in her ability to play the piano, organ and accordion as well as knitting. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she loved traveling with her family on day trips to the ocean, staying locally and going to the Dutch Treat or making special time to go “strawberrying.” She was precise with numbers and was a tough cribbage competitor.

Her family will hold in grateful appreciation the staff at Russell Park and the nursing staff of AHCH for the wonderful care given to their mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Leeman and her husband, Richard, of Farmington; her son, Kevin Trask and his wife, Debbie, of Wilton; grandchildren, Todd Leeman and his wife, Lisa, Robin Mittelstadt and her husband, David, Jennifer Redlevske and her husband, Doug, Ashley Trask and companion, Jason Smith and Tyler Trask; great-grandchildren, Devin Leeman, Christian Leeman, Jaydin Leeman, Zackary Mittelstadt and Alexis Mittelstadt.
