Winston-Salem, N.C. – Jan Sammon, 59, died in North Carolina on Jan. 28.

He was born in Kansas City, Kan., on June 6, 1949, the son of Joella (Fiala) and Neil Sammon. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran having served his country during the Vietnam War.

He worked as a mechanic at various Ford dealerships in Maine, North Carolina and Kansas for more than 30 years.

He is survived by his wife, Lillian (Pelletier) Sammon, whom he married on March 7, 1970; sons Mark Sammon and wife, Niki, of Winter Haven, Fla. and Greg Sammon of Winston-Salem, N.C.; his father, Neil Sammon of Kansas City; and by three grandchildren.
