RANGELEY – Voters head to the polls Tuesday to elect officials, approve the school budget and decide whether to allow festivals with vendors in Lakeside Park to benefit nonprofit groups, Town Clerk Ethna Thompson said.

On the municipal ballot, the Board of Selectmen have one position open for three years. Selectman Richard Morton chose not to rerun but one candidate, James Carignan, is seeking the position.

The Sewer Commission has three openings but no candidates. There is one position for two years and two positions for three years. The town is looking for write-in votes for these positions also, she added.

The town will also decide on allowing Lakeside Park to be used for one or two day festivals with vendors to benefit groups such as the Rangeley Friends of the Arts, the Rotary and Booster Clubs and other groups, she said. While the park is used for activities by town groups, some question allowing for-profit vendors there, she said.
