AUBURN – Roland L. Caron, 64, of 3 Mt. Hope Ave., Lewiston, died Saturday, June 13, at Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice House. He fought a courageous battle with lung and brain cancer in the past year.

He was born in Lewiston, Aug. 25, 1944, the son of Lionel and Cecile Caron. He was educated in Lewiston schools and was employed for many years in building maintenance for area rental companies, including N.C. Rema.

He enjoyed working on cars, repairing items and helping a large number of friends with whatever tasks needed to be done. He enjoyed auto races at Oxford Plains, visiting friends, watching WWF wrestling and recording TV shows.

He is survived by his girlfriend, Helen English of Auburn; his son, Anthony Bechard; his extended family, Stephen and Claire Vermette of Lewiston, Barbara Brown of Auburn, Doris Russell of Lisbon Falls, David Russell and fiancee, Melanie Ridley, of Auburn; and nieces and nephews, Amanda Russell, Lexi Churchill, Brandon Riml and William Churchill.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Roger Austin and the nursing staff of Hospice House, Dr. Mahesh Pandey of St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, the Beacon House staff in Augusta and Country Manor staff for their care, love and support.
