LIVERMORE FALLS – There are a wide array of events, from stories and crafts to a contest and a Comb Kazoo Band finale, planned for this year’s summer reading program at the Treat Memorial Library.

Registration for Be Creative @ Your Library begins Tuesday, June 23, and runs through Saturday, June 27, library Director Fran Goodine said. The program ends Aug. 8.

Registrants will receive a reading log, bookmark, voucher for ticket to Portland Sea Dogs game, reading activity sheet, coloring pages and a list of events.

Readers will have a choice of counting how many minutes they read or list the titles of books they have read.

At registration time, participants will be asked to sign a contract and set a goal of the number of minutes they will read or the books they will read.

After reading the first book, readers will get a chance to play a board game to answer a question about the book they have read, and receive a coupon for free entry to the Old Fort Western in Augusta plus a prize.

Chances to play the game are offered during different parts of the program.

A Design a Bookmark contest will be held from June 23 to July 11. A Name That Craft contest will be held from July 14 to 25.

There will also be three chances to guess What’s in the Box during the program with winners to be named.

There will be story time with Lady Elaine at 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays beginning June 24. There will also be stories and crafts at 6 p.m. Thursdays, June 25, July 9, July 16, July 21, July 28 and Aug. 6.

All readers who reach their goal will be invited and recognized at the grand finale party at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20.
