Phyllis A. Copp

1937 – 2009

AUBURN — Phyllis A. Copp, 71, a lifelong resident of Mechanic Falls died Monday, June 22, at the Hospice House.

She was born in Mechanic Falls, on Sept. 2, 1937, the daughter of Ray and Irene Cotton. She graduated from Mechanic Falls High School and had retired from WCBB as an assistant program manager.

She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Mechanic Falls Development Commission. She was a hospice volunteer and a volunteer at the SPCA. She was a member of the Minot Corner United Methodist Church and on the Board of Trustees.

She was an artist and enjoyed painting. She was an avid golfer and member at Summit Golf Course. She especially enjoyed time at camp with her family. She married Donald Copp on May 18, 1956.

She is survived by her husband of Mechanic Falls; two sons, Rocky and his wife, Theresa, of Poland and Jeff and his wife, Julia, of Minot; grandsons, Garett of Flagstaff, Ariz., and Halsey of Poland; granddaughters, Morgan of Mechanic Falls, Brittany Turcotte and her husband, Matt, of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; a great-grandson, Aden; four brothers, Leonard of Norway, Arthur of Veazie, Gary of North Carolina, and Larry of Mechanic Falls; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brother, Alan Cotton.
