LEWISTON — Four men were arrested early Friday, accused of beating and robbing another man in the Big Apple parking lot on Main Street.
Police said the victim was walking near the store at about 1:30 a.m. when four men in a car drove past and harassed him. Eventually, the driver stopped the car and the four men stepped out. Police said the men attacked the victim while rummaging through his pockets in a search for money.
The suspects were seen driving away from the store in a black Nissan. A short time later, an Androscoggin County Sheriff’s deputy stopped the vehicle and questioned the occupants. They were later arrested in connection with the attack.
Charged with robbery and assault were Abdirahman Hussein Mohamed, 23, of 50 Fairmount St., Ahmed Ali Osman, 20, of 704 Broadview Ave., Auburn, Mohamed Q. Shariffhassan, 19, of 319 Bates St., and Mustafa Aden Bulle, 26, of 77 Summer St., Auburn.
