- The State Veterans of Foreign Wars Convention was held from June 12 to 14 in Winslow. New officers were elected and installed by Past National Commander-in-Chief Edward Banas from Niatic, Conn. Pictured in front is Alfred E. Michaud Sr., state commander of the VFW, Department of Maine, Waterville VFW Post 1285; back from left, Arthur J. Roy, state chief of staff and membership chairman, Auburn VFW Post 1603;and Randy Worthley, PSC and state veterans service chairman, Winslow VFW Post 8835. The new VFW year begins on July 1 and anyone that served overseas and received a campaign medal may contact Roy, who resides on Russell Street, Lewiston, at 784-6883 or e-mail [email protected] to receive an application.
