LEWISTON — Paul Oliver has been hired as chief information officer for Geiger, CEO Gene Geiger announced.
Oliver will work directly under the CEO to lead Geiger’s information technology group. He will be directly responsible for redefining the department’s organization and invigorating the partnering between the technology and business units. Oliver’s goals include re-engineering existing IT processes to align them with the company’s vision for the future.
Oliver comes to Geiger from the ForrestPoint Consulting Group in Allentown, Pa., where he worked to optimize technology for business applications. Prior to that, he served for four years as director of information technology at Just Born Inc., the Bethlehem, Pa.-based producer of Peeps®, Mike and Ike®, Hot Tamales®, and other nationally-known candy brands. He has also worked as director of technology services for The Associated Press and manager of the LAN Services Group at Wheelock Inc., in Long Branch, N.J.
Oliver holds a bachelor of science degree in computer information systems from DeVry University in Phoenix, Ariz., and a master of business administration in technology management degree from the University of Phoenix.
He was born in Colonia, N.J., and grew up there and in New York City. Most recently, he resided in Lower Saucon, Pa., where he served as vice chairman for Habitat for Humanity® of the Lehigh Valley, and volunteered for the Cops for Kids reading program, Second Harvest food bank, Meals on Wheels and, during pledge drives, for his local PBS affiliate.
