Blacksmith meeting
WILTON — The Western Maine Blacksmith Association will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, at the Wilton Historical Society. Discussion will focus on upcoming events and new projects. The program will be a showing of “Secrets of the Samaria Sword.” Open forge nights will be 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, and Friday, July 24, at the Farmington Fairgrounds blacksmith shop. Visitors are welcome.
North Jay Day
JAY — North Jay Grange 10 will celebrate its third annual North Jay Day from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, July 11, There will be food and craft sales, lunch and music by local musicians. The family of Cecil Holman will discuss his memorabilia.
A public supper will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. with dinner music. The menu will include beans, casseroles, salads, coleslaw, meatballs, hot dogs, dessert, beverages. Cost is adults, $7; age 10 and under, $3. For more information, call 645-2910, 645-4628 or 645-2217.
The Methodist thrift shop will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. A quilt show will be held at the Bartlett Memorial Methodist Church, Route 17, and the North Jay Fire Station will be open for tours.
Vacation school
FARMINGTON — Vacation Bible School will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday, July 13 to 17, at the Farmington Baptist Church, 184 Whittier Road. Theme will be “Boomerang Express: It All Comes Back to Jesus.”
In the one-week adventure, children will learn about having a relationship with Jesus through Bible stories, crafts, music and games.For more information, call Eileen at 778-3615.
