WILTON — The Tyngtown Club will host a garden tour of the Wilton area from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 18, rain or shine. All proceeds will benefit the Wilton Free Public Library.
Tickets are $15 a person and will include the tour and a box lunch. They are available at the Wilton Free Public Library, the Hatchery in Weld, Rocky Hill Landscaping in East Wilton and the Calico Patch in Farmington. Tickets may also be purchased on the day of the event at the library.
On the day of the event, visit the library to pick up tour maps, brochures and box lunches. There will also be a variety of used gardening books for sale at the library that day.
The Tyngtown Club’s first major project was fundraising to help establish a public library in Wilton. The club has since contributed to the Wilton Free Public Library, located in the Goodspeed Memorial Library Building, for each of the last 104 years.
Recent efforts of the club include the continued support of the library, the Wilton Early Childhood Center, Wilton Scholarship Fund, downtown landscaping and flower boxes, “Maine Street 90,” a playground at Kineowatha Park, Foothills Conservancy Project and the gazebo in Bass Park. The club is in its 106th year and continues to benefit the entire Wilton community.
For more information about the garden tour, contact the library at 645-4831 or e-mail wfplkids@wilton-free.lib.me.us.
