NORWAY — The Norway Arts Festival 2009 theme, “Looking Up in Norway,” will be featured on a poster to be released on Thursday, July 9, following the Kick-off lecture by Craig Whitaker at the Norway Memorial Library.
The poster depicts eight towers located in downtown Norway; they include three churches, the town office, the Gingerbread House, the Opera House and two Queen Anne houses. It was created by Misha Tomic, a summer resident of Waterford, and it will sell for $15 unframed.
Misha Tomic has had more than 20 one-person exhibitions, many group shows and received 12 honors for his art work. He taught painting, drawing and a variety of art subjects at the university level. Trained as a painter, Tomic discovered the digital possibilities for art expression six years ago. Since then he has been devoting more and more of his creative energy to designing posters using the digital medium.
He will be available following the lecture on July 9 to talk about his work and sign posters.
