BUCKFIELD — The 50th wedding anniversary of Richard and Pauline Jones of Buckfield was celebrated with an open house at the Masonic Hall. The hall was decorated with gold, white and black balloons, with many photos displayed.
Allen Reid, grandson, was master of ceremonies. A poem was written and read by granddaughter Allison Reid, and a story was written and read by a sister of Mrs. Jones, Helen Hadley. Granddaughter Emily Hutchinson presented a letter from Gov. John Baldacci, and David Heidrich presented a letter from Sen. Susan Collins. Granddaughter Ashley Hutchinson and friend, Chad, performed a musical number, and grandchildren, Ethan and Ellen read some interesting facts from 1959. The program ended with the eldest son, Rick, paying a tribute to the guests of honor.
Mr. Jones and the former Pauline Warren were married on March 28, 1959, at the home of the parents of the bridegroom, Percy and Leonora Jones.
Their children are Rick Jones and his wife, Vivian, of Buckfield, Randy Jones and his wife, Kim, of Buckfield, Rhonda Reid and husband, Jim, of Hebron and Regina Hutchinson and husband, Bill, of Buckfield.
Their grandchildren are Erick, Ethan and Ellen Jones, Levi and Lacey Jackson, Jared Jones, Allen and Allison Reid, and Emily and Ashley Hutchinson. They also have a great-granddaughter, Abigail Jones.
Original wedding attendants present were Shirl Jones, brother of Mr. Jones, and Shirley Smith, sister of Mrs. Jones.
