VFW meeting

LEWISTON — The Longley-Dionne VFW Post 9150 will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, at 57 Birch Street. All officers and members are encouraged to attend.

The agenda will include upcoming VFW programs. All eligible veterans wishing to become members may attend and bring proof of eligibility.

Bridge play

LEWISTON — The Lewiston-Auburn Duplicate Bridge Club met on July 14 at the Multi-Purpose Center. Winners in Flight A were: first, Fred Letourneau and Rosemarie Goodwin; second, Mary Leahey and Patricia Quinn; third, Mike Quinn and Luke Merry; fourth, David Lock and Nancy Lindgren. Flight B winners were: first, Marta Clements and Claire Lyons; second, Ron and Connie Reynolds. Another game will be played at 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 21 at the center.

The club also met on July 15 at Schooner Estates in Auburn. Flight A winners were: first, Martine Begert and Sharon Hinckley; second, Leslie Lord and Rosemarie Goodwin; third, Fred Letourneau and Jeanine Kivus; fourth, Leslie Buzzell and John Hackett. Flight B winners were: first, Richard Allen and Martha Young; second, Ron and Connie Reynolds.

Another game will be played at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, at Schooner Estates. A partner is guaranteed at both games. For further information, call Lucille Theriault at 783-0431.

Kidney screening

LEWISTON — Andover College, 475 Lisbon St., will host a free kidney screening from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 29,
in its medical laboratory. The event is open to the public.

Eligible candidates for the screening must be at least 18 years old and
have diabetes, high blood pressure and/or a parent or sibling with
diabetes, high blood pressure or kidney disease.
