AUBURN – NAPA Auto Parts moved into second place in Auburn Rec Players League West Division softball with a 12-8 win over L/A Fire Wednesday night at Tribou Field.
After trailing 6-5 going into the bottom of the fifth inning, Napa’s bats exploded for seven runs on eight hits. Every player for NAPA ended the game with at least one RBI. Kasey Clark led the way, going 3-for-3 with two RBIs, a walk and two runs scored. Zach Gross went 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored. Anthony Clark was 2-for-3 with an RBI, a walk and two runs scored. Demetrius Starks was 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored, while Dave Pontbriand and Eric Davis each went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.
NAPA’s win came in a makeup game that was originally scheduled to be played the night of the Cowan Mill fire. NAPA, its employees and players would like to thank our local firefighters for all they do in keeping our community safe.
