Janice W. Farren, 82, of Saratoga Springs, N.Y., died July 30.

She was born Nov. 28, 1926, in Auburn and attended public schools in that city. She graduated from the School of Cosmetology in Lewiston and was proprietor of her own beauty salon in Auburn until moving to Schenectady, N.Y., in 1952.

She was employed at Northway Auto Exchange in Halfmoon, N.Y., for several years before becoming office manager for two Schenectady surgeons.

She was a past PTA member of the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake School District and served one year as president. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Burnt Hills Methodist Church.

Inaddition to her husband, Maynard, survivors include two sons, Donald W. Farren of Northville, N.Y., and Brian V. Farren of Sparks, Nev.; four grandchildren, Lyle, Lauren, Emily and Jennifer; and one great-granddaughter, Cameron.
