CAMDEN, Maine (AP) – A 500-pound moose ambled into a downtown building in Maine and startled residents before being sedated by game wardens.
Resident Les Wainer, who’d just finished his morning coffee, was alarmed to discover the moose hanging out Tuesday in the lobby of the Knox Mill Center.
Camden police and building staff were able to corral the creature before game wardens arrived with a tranquilizer. It was set free in the Ruffingham Meadow State Game Management Area in Searsmont.
The Bangor Daily News says a filmmaker working on a Discovery Channel documentary about how moose interact with people caught the entire episode on film.
