LEWISTON — SeniorsPlus, the area agency on aging for Androscoggin, Franklin and Oxford counties, is seeking volunteers to assist in their new Meals on Wheels production kitchen located at 55 Alfred Plourde Parkway and as delivery drivers for Meals on Wheels routes in the Lewiston-Auburn area.

The Meals on Wheels kitchen produces between 300 and 400 meals daily, which are then delivered to older adults throughout the tri-county area. Volunteers are needed for kitchen assistants to support the kitchen staff. Volunteers may work one or more days a week for a
couple of hours, portioning and packaging meals and assisting with
usual kitchen duties.

“This new kitchen location has brought new opportunities for volunteers who would like to support our mission of helping older adults remain independently in their homes, ” said Trudy Hamilton, volunteer manager at SeniorsPlus.

SeniorsPlus also needs volunteer Meals on Wheels drivers for Lewiston-Auburn routes. The delivery routes take between one and two hours, Monday through Thursday. Volunteers can do one or more routes a week.

For more information, contact Trudy Hamilton at 795-4010, ext. 3114 or thamilton@seniorsplus.org.
