The Festival’s mission:

Visiting balloonists from all over the U.S. & Canada will be soaring to the delight of more than 100,000 spectators at the 16th Annual Great Falls Balloon Festival.
The dream of the Great Falls Balloon Festival came true in August 1993 through the efforts of Rachel Desgrosseilliers, Bethel Shields and John Reeder.
The main goal of the founders was to help local non-profit organizations and to attract tourists to the Lewiston-Auburn area. Over the years, their goal has been reached and surpassed. In 2007, local non-profit groups participating in the Festival had a net income of over $150,000, and we have had visitors from all over North America.
Even when the balloons aren’t visible overhead, there’s a full schedule of events throughout the weekend for all ages to enjoy: carnival rides, business trade exhibits, crafters, food, live entertainment, novelty & souvenir vendors, climbing wall, kids area, games, activities, demonstrations and contests.
