LISBON — Twenty-year-old Heather Giguere of Auburn was charged with illegal transportation of alcohol and leaving the scene of an accident early Monday morning.

The Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office advised Lisbon police to be on the lookout for a car that hit a utility pole at 745 Main St. in Bowdoin at 2:44 a.m. Monday and left the scene. Minutes later Lisbon officer Richard St. Amant spotted a damaged 1998 Volkswagen on Main Street in Lisbon Falls dragging a 20-foot wire. He stopped the vehicle and charged Giguere with illegal transportation of alcohol.

Sagadahoc Deputy Sheriff Mathew Shierf charged Giguere with leaving the scene of an accident.
