WEST PARIS — The Friends of the West Paris Library will sponsor the annual used
book sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, at the West Paris Grange Hall, Church Street.

A special feature will be a display of new children’s books published by Barefootbooks. The purchase of Barefootbooks will benefit the building of the “Little Castle” addition. Marsha Miles, a direct seller of Barefootbooks from Torrington, Conn., will be at the Grange during the sale.

The mission of Barefoot, a company started by two mothers to create books for their children, is “to celebrate art and stories that opens the hearts and minds of children from all walks of life, inspiring them to read deeper, search further and explore their own creative gifts.”

Miles is also sponsoring the raffle of two books, “The Barefoot Book of Knights” and “The Barefoot Book of Princesses.” Each comes with a CD and they will be presented together in a gift tote bag.

The drawing will be at 2 p.m. the day of the sale. Tickets, selling for $1 each or six for $5, may also be purchased ahead of time at the library, where the books are on display. The raffle will benefit the building fund.

The event may be supported by online purchases at www.mybarefootbooks.com/marshamiles. Shop after clicking on the West Paris Library event.

For more information, call the library at 674-2004. The library is open from 1:30 to 6 p.m. Monday and Friday, 1:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
