Staples Road tree cutting

The issue: The town is taking bids for a tree-cutting project on Staples Road.

The scoop: Town Manager Eva Leavitt provided a list of bids the town received for the project. Discussion was based on the quality of work provided by each bidder.

Up next: The board decided to award the job to Greg Roy of Green Thumb Landscaping for $3,100.

Road Committee

The issue: The board reviewed appointing a member to the road system study group for the Maine Municipal Association.

The scoop: Thomas Perkins was appointed by vote of the board.

Up next: The board also discussed what Perkins’ interest would be and what knowledge he may provide to the committee.

Hours of work

The issue: Selectmen discussed current hours of work for town employees.

The scoop: They decided the town manager would research recommendations for any changes that could potentially lower expenses.

Up next: Leavitt will provide a report of her research with recommendations of changes.
