FARMINGTON — Colonial Daughters Chapter, DAR, held a luncheon meeting at Two Oaks on June 23. Associate Member Ann Thomas installed the following new officers for 2009-2011: regent, Marcia White; first vice regent, Melanie Farmer; second vice regent, Amy Martin; chaplain Constance Hiltz; secretary, Wilma Rector; corresponding secretary, Nancy Flick; treasurer, Kay Seefeldt; registrar, Joanne Page; historian, Abbey Walker; librarian, Julia Nouvertne.

Speaker Sherwood Anderson related stories about the New Vineyard Historical Society and the Daughters of the American Revolutionary War, including a humorous poem about the DAR.

A business meeting with officers’ reports followed. At the meeting’s end, outgoing Regent Theo Walker Ross handed the gavel to incoming Regent Marcia White of Rangeley, who addressed the group briefly and adjourned the meeting.

Anyone interested in joining DAR is welcome to attend a meeting. The chapter meets September through June. Guests are always welcome and members are available to answer questions about membership in DAR.
