SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (AP) — No need to hide the beer before University of Rhode Island football games this season.

URI said Wednesday that it would allow fans to drink alcohol while tailgating before Rams games.

The school plans to provide a public tailgate lot and a special tailgate area for donors.

URI says in a statement that it has reversed its prior ban on alcohol to “enhance the overall college football game day experience.”

The school says it’ll still enforce laws against underage drinking. Fans can enter the tailgating areas three hours before the game, though no tailgating is permitted during it.

The season opener is Sept. 5 against Fordham.
