Reed family

HEBRON — The descendants of Mary Elizabeth Stewart and Charles Franklin Reed held their annual reunion on Aug. 9 at the home of Richard and Jane Hatch, with 35 family members and guests attending. A potluck lunch was held.

A business meeting was conducted by President Jane Hatch. The secretary’s and treasurer’s reports were read and accepted. A moment of silence was observed in memory of Terry Brown, who died during the year. It was voted to elect the same slate of officers for the ensuing year. It was also voted to increase the amount given to the youngest and eldest members attending each year.

The youngest this year was Amulet Giberti and the eldest was Lois Gordon. “Happy Birthday” was sung to members whose birthdays fell in August.

Following the business meeting, Jane Hatch called attention to papers she had prepared for the members to update information for each branch of the family.

The annual egg toss and pie-eating contests were held, with John Kierberski winning the pie contest. Egg toss winners were: first, Bobby and Kim, and second, Bob and Ashley.

New babies welcomed into the family this year were Milo Antonio Pereira, Audrey Elizabeth Hodgson, Lucile Burkett and Aiden Marcus, 4 years.

Family members and guests attended from Auburn, Lewiston, Livermore, Wales, Litchfield, Livermore Falls, Jay, Lisbon, Canton, Hebron and Danvers, Mass.

The next reunion will be held on Aug. 8, 2010, the second Sunday.
