BRIDGTON — Gallery 302 is hosting painter Robert Blake as guest artist through Nov. 6. Born and raised in Maine, Blake has practiced and studied art since he was a boy.

After graduating from what is now Maine College of Art, he worked as a carpenter and ran his own cabinetry business. At the same time, he continued to pursue painting and drawing independently.

Although comfortable in a number of media, Blake has been working lately almost exclusively in watercolor. His work has taken him in two different directions: his garden and coastal scenes.

A public reception for Blake’s show will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 23.
